I am a 51 year old Mother of  3 who like most people have a bit of a story as to how I became involved within the fitness industry. I love working with people who need support and motivation through their health and well-being journey.

I always enjoyed sport as a youngster but it wasn’t until I got into my late twenties, early thirties and a full circle life change from working in a buzzy Creative Design studio in London to a full time Mum, did I realise how important exercise was for my sanity.  Throw in a significant personal life change and it became my world. I needed to find a way to become financially independent and I knew what I wanted to do.

So, relatively late in life I did a Personal Training course at YMCAfit and qualified as an Advanced Diploma Level 3 Personal Trainer. I have run my own business within the fitness industry for over 12 years as a Personal trainer in 1-2-1, joint and group sessions as well as teaching Spin and Circuit classes .  As I approached my late forties, I was aware that my body was changing and wasn’t necessarily adapting to exercise regimes as it once did.  My body started to ache in areas it hadn’t before, I had negative changes in mood and mindset and noticed weight management wasn’t as effective as it used to be. My clients of a similar age were having comparable experiences so I started to question why?  I wanted to understand more and be able to support Clients. So, when Covid came along it gave me the opportunity to go back to learning and I studied Burrell Education 3rd Age Woman’s online course and became a specialist Women’s Health and Fitness Coach and Personal Trainer.

My Aim

For Women approaching mid-life my aim is to help them understand the importance of exercise and how it’s key to incorporate the right modality of training into their routines.

Enabling them to experience the many benefits of a regular exercise and how it can enhance their day-to-day life.

Encouraging Women to move away from the notion that fitness and exercise is just about weight loss and body shape.  I aim to help them look at the bigger picture of their overall health and well-being, to move better and feel fitter so they can embrace this next phase of their life with confidence and pride.

Knowledge is power and I want to help women in midlife understand that what they are experiencing and feeling in both mind and body is completely natural, and to remember we are all unique. To understand that the correct regular exercise supported by the right food and life-style choices, can make it possible to naturally reduce many symptoms of the Menopause.

I aim to help Women in midlife change their mindset, to stop looking back at their former younger selves and to provide an opportunity to re-evaluate and focus on what they can change now and in the future. To help them not only become fitter and stronger in body, but to feel more empowered, re-gain lost confidence and improve their self-esteem. Not one thing in our body or mind works in isolation, we must look at the bigger picture to optimise our fitness health, and well-being.

My Approach

My approach to working with Mid-Life Women goes beyond just a great bespoke exercise programme.  Other life-style considerations need to be factored in such as fluctuating hormones, sleep quality, stress management, nutrition, work/life balance and any other historical health issues or injuries.  My role is to support, motivate and educate.

My Beliefs

The Menopause & Mid-life phase has historically been shrouded in negativity. However, I believe health, happiness and quality of life does not have to stop when Menopause starts.  Afterall most of us have a 3rd of our life span post menopause to go, so why not optimise what we have got now, go with it and most importantly have fun.

Question for you...

Can you relate to any of the following questions?

Do you often ask yourself why my body doesn’t adapt to diet and exercise like it used to?

Do you experience a mid-afternoon slump in energy, yet are unable to sleep well at night – does this affect your moods, your thoughts?

Do you avoid exercise because you feel too tired, uncomfortable and possibly even embarrassed?

Do you put everyone’s needs whether it’s at work or home before yours and struggle to say ‘No’?

Do you think that you don’t deserve to give yourself some ‘me time’ and feel guilty if you take time for what gives YOU joy?

Would you like to work with a health & Fitness coach who herself is in her early 50’s, who does work, does have a family and can totally empathise?

If the answer to any of the above is yes, contact me to see how I can help You become the best version of YOURSELF.
